Chvrches met Hideo Kojima, the game creator, earlier in 2019 when they toured Kojima Productions headquarters. Simultaneously, Chvrches released their track, of the same name as the game, and posted it on YouTube and streaming platforms. Then, they announced it on October 1, 2019. RCA Records has partnered with Sony Interactive Entertainment to release the soundtrack.
